A Knight Doesn’t Forge His Own Blade

Trust a Wordsmith as a knight would a blacksmith

You are an expert in what you do. You’ve worked hard, gained the experience and knowledge required to successfully start your business. But there are many facets to that business. In order to grow, you need professional content around your brand, your products and services, and the various topics relevant to your customers.

A knight, an expert in his craft, doesn’t forge his own blade, armor. He doesn’t make his own saddle. Trust a wordsmith as a knight would a blacksmith. What’s a wordsmith? Me. Someone who works with words and writes professionally.

Why trust your business to a wordsmith?

It’s simple: Trust and professionalism. McKeating Solutions isn’t any wordsmith. I’m a professional that you can trust. I take the time to sit down with my clients, and get to know both them and their business. This happens before anything is signed or any money is exchange.

This consultation enables us to get a feel for whether we are the right fit for each other. If we’re not, I’ll work to help find someone who is better suited for your specific needs. If we are, we’ll take this (professional) relationship one step further.

After learning about your business, I then ask questions to get to know your customers a bit better. In doing so, we can tailor the content we’ll create to their needs, interests and wants. We’ll create (on average) about five different categories of content based on your brand, products and services, and customers.

Then I light the forge

After our consultation, I get to work. Again, no content has yet been created. In this third step, I take a look at your current website and social media platforms, we talk through any marketing efforts like email lists with which you are currently working. The result is an analysis of your current marketing.

We’ll find out where you currently are ranking with Google and in your customer’s searches and use this in our content strategy to improve your results.

Next, we take a look at your competitors. With this competitive analysis we can identify:

  • Which keywords are working.
  • Where there is competition.
  • And opportunities where you can fill the gaps and provide content that is missing.

And now the wordsmithing begins

And then we craft a schedule, a content calendar and can finally start writing. The first posts are crucial. This is where I work to match your brand’s personality and voice. I’ll work closely with you to refine these posts and use them as a style guide moving forward. After these first three posts, you’ll have the power to inspect my work and ask for revisions, but I’ll require less and less of your time as we move forward.
